Minister Sponsors International Symposium on Digital Change and Protecting Women’s Identity

Ahd Jaasous participated in an international scientific symposium on protecting women from digital threats, identifying digital security and awareness of emerging technologies as priorities for the ministry.

Minister of State for Women’s Affairs Dr Ahd Mohammed Jaasous participated in the fourth international scientific symposium, titled “Women amid Transformations and Changing Trends in the Virtual World: Belief, Identity, Ethical Values, Digital Threats, Rights and Freedom, and Personal Responsibility.”

The symposium was held as part of preparations for the first international scientific conference on the consequences and dimensions of criminal digital targeting of women in the virtual world. The event is organized by the Libyan Observatory for Social Studies Foundation, under the patronage and honorary presidency of Libya’s Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, Dr Huriya Khalifa Al-Tarmal.

Jaasous introduced Yemen’s Ministry of State for Women’s Affairs, saying it is the first independent ministry dedicated to women’s affairs in Yemen’s political history and that its establishment reflects the political will to empower women and protect their national and legal gains.

She said digital security for women and families is among the ministry’s leading priorities and future plans. Protecting women from digital threats and safeguarding their identity online, she stressed, is a foundation of social stability.

Jaasous also highlighted the ministry’s openness to stronger international relations and participation in scientific forums. Exchanging expertise with research institutions, she said, contributes to a shared vision for addressing the risks modern technology poses to families.

At the conclusion of her participation, the minister thanked Libya and the event’s organizers for supporting the symposium.
