Minister of State for Women’s Affairs Participates in the Launch of a Workshop on Community Resilience and Building Adaptive Communities in Aden

Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, Dr. Ahd Mohammed Jaasous, contributed to the launch of a workshop on community resilience and adequate housing, organized by the Ministry of Public Works and Roads in the interim capital, Aden, to mark the 2026 Arab and World Habitat Day.

Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, Dr. Ahd Mohammed Jaasous, participated alongside Minister of Public Works and Roads, Eng. Hussein Al-Aqrabi, today in the launch of a workshop titled “Community Resilience: Building Adaptive Communities” in the interim capital, Aden. The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Public Works and Roads to mark the 2026 Arab and World Habitat Day.

The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of strengthening community resilience and the role of adequate housing in promoting stability and development, as well as to explore mechanisms for building communities better equipped to address various challenges and changes.

The workshop discussed several specialized papers on housing and urban development, covering the role of adequate housing in promoting social inclusion and reducing poverty, activating the Urban Observatory, and reviewing the Adequate Housing Project and its developmental and social dimensions. Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination among relevant stakeholders and developing policies and programs that address the social and economic needs of communities, thereby expanding access to adequate housing and supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
