Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, Dr. Ahd Mohammed Jaasous, emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among government institutions, the private sector, international organizations, and the community to enhance healthcare services, provide treatment and psychosocial support to women and children affected by cancer, and ensure that assistance reaches them more promptly and equitably.

In her remarks delivered during the launch ceremony of the October 2026 campaign to train midwives at health centers, held as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and under the patronage of the Minister of Public Health and Population, Prof. Dr. Qasim Mohammed Buhaibeh, and the Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, Dr. Ahd Mohammed Jaasous, Dr. Jaasous noted that addressing cancer is a shared national responsibility that requires concerted efforts and expanded partnerships to ensure the provision of necessary treatment and care for patients.

She stressed the Ministry of State for Women’s Affairs’ commitment to strengthening coordination among relevant stakeholders in order to facilitate the delivery of support to women and children affected by cancer and alleviate the burden of treatment on families, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that no mother is left to face the disease alone due to difficult living conditions.

Dr. Jaasous commended the efforts of government institutions, the private sector, international organizations, and community initiatives, as well as the support they provide in the areas of treatment, training, early detection, and care. She also praised all efforts that contribute to fostering hope and supporting patients and their families.

She concluded her remarks by emphasizing the importance of strengthening humanitarian and community partnerships in addressing cancer and ensuring the necessary care for patients, while wishing all those affected a full recovery and peace and safety for Yemen and its people.
