Jaasous Discusses with UN Women the Importance of the National Strategic Plan in Yemen

Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, Dr. Ahd Jaasous, met today in Aden with UN Women Representative in Yemen, Dina Zorba, to discuss strengthening cooperation on women’s issues and the importance of the National Strategic Plan in advancing women’s empowerment and participation.

Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, Dr. Ahd Jaasous, met today in the interim capital, Aden, with UN Women Representative in Yemen, Ms. Dina Zorba, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination in support of women’s issues, as well as the importance of the National Strategic Plan in developing programs aimed at empowering women and enhancing their participation across various fields.

The meeting reviewed the Ministry’s priorities for the coming period, the needs related to developing national policies and programs for women, and mechanisms for strengthening coordination with international partners to support government efforts to improve women’s conditions and expand their opportunities to participate in development and decision-making.

Dr. Jaasous emphasized the importance of the National Strategic Plan for Women as a national framework that helps unify efforts and guide programs and projects related to women’s issues, contributing to addressing the evolving needs of women and girls and strengthening their role in sustainable development.

For her part, the UN Women Representative reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to continuing its support for women’s empowerment programs in Yemen and strengthening its partnership with the Ministry of State for Women’s Affairs and relevant stakeholders, contributing to the implementation of initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing women’s economic, social, and political participation.
