Minister of State for Women’s Affairs Dr Ahd Jaasous met with Yemeni Cabinet Secretary-General Mohammed Salem Bahebri to discuss the ministry’s mandate, responsibilities and mechanisms for activating its role so that it can carry out its work effectively.
The meeting reviewed the ministry’s vision for its responsibilities, including oversight of women-focused activities in ministries and local authorities across the governorates, and stronger coordination with the National Women’s Committee, the Supreme Council for Women and the Women’s Development Sector at the Ministry of Local Administration.
The participants stressed the importance of unifying and organizing women-focused government activities to consolidate efforts, integrate institutional roles and address women’s issues more effectively and consistently.
The meeting was part of a series of official engagements undertaken by Jaasous after assuming office to activate the ministry and begin implementing its mandate in practice.
